Robert Young
Robert Young was born in Sheffield in 1965 and moved to West Yorkshire in 1985 where he still resides in a sleepy little village called Menston, nine miles out of Leeds. It is there he lives with his wife Tracey and their three cats, Bella, Jessica and Koopa, their two grown up daughters Jade and Hannah having already flown the nest.
For the past six years Robert has researched and written three, almost four of the eight books in the Auctoratus series. He, like his main protagonist Darius Drusus, has travelled from Rome to New York City experiencing the cultures and soaking up the atmosphere. Later this year a trip to Egypt is planned, though unlike DD who made the trip via an elevator in the Plaza hotel in the Big Apple, Robert will most likely catch a plane.
“I’m inspired by the imagination of those ancient storytellers who created Kings and Queens, who told of the adventures of heroes and heroines, young and old. Just imagine how boring history would be without fables and their creators!”
“As for the modern day storytellers, I’m currently a big fan of Elly Griffiths and Will Adams. Both of these authors in their own way keep you turning the pages, Elly with her beautifully crafted characters and Will with his fast paced action adventures.”
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my editor Jessica Augustsson. She is without doubt the best editor in the world… Check out her website… www.jessedit.com
Jessica, pardon the pun, but you’re an Angel!
Finally there maybe those of you wondering about the photographs I have of my characters? Well feel free to build an image of Darius et al for yourselves, but the many dreams about the faces I’ve had of my ‘friends’ over the years are reflected in these images. I have sourced them from the net and own the right to reproduce them here. One image I’d like to give thanks for is the one of Liora, this was taken by Devon Cass www.devoncass.com and reproduced by permission of would you believe Liora herself? www.lioramichelle.com

FAQ’s
Originally there were to be seven books in the series with the first being a two-parter. However I'm currently drafting up another book set in the time of Alexander the Great, so that may be eight, oh and then there's the prequel...
Tell you what, I'll let you know when I know, all I'll say at this point is the ending is explosive!!!
Not especially, I’m fascinated by all the religions of the world and respect each of them. As for reincarnation, well I’m an optimist and can’t bear the thought of when you’re gone you’re gone. Doesn’t believing in reincarnation gives you a sense of immortality and the ability of a second, third and fourth chance to get it right?
